The Sabine band will be sponsoring the Honor America Night celebration this week at the James Bamburg stadium Tuesday. If the weather does not interfere with plans, the event will begin at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 6 p.m. However, if the show gets rained out, then the rain check date will be on Nov. 14 with the same starting time as previously planned.

Those attending must pay $5 at the gate entrance if they are civilians; however, if they are currently serving in the military or a veteran there will be no cost to enter or watch the show. There will be a firework show display almost immediately after the Sabine band plays. The costs of the firework work show are estimated to be anywhere from $5,000-$10,000. If donors are willing to help the Sabine band boosters out with the costs of this event, they should contact Sherry Cornet (903-746-2255) or Mr. Handorf (903-984-8587). The band will be performing the pieces Duty Honor Country, Armed Forces on Parade, The Star-spangled Banner, and Gallant Men.

This will be Sabine’s 21st annual Honor America Night. The purpose of the event is to not only acknowledge soldiers but also thank them for all of the sacrifices they have made throughout their service.
