The new Venom movie, which came out in October, had its ups and downs. People seemed to either like it or hate it.

This was Venom’s first standalone movie, and some say Venom turned out to be like the comics character in all the wrong ways – chaotic, noisy, and in desperate need of a stronger attachment to Spider-Man.

Others who were more familiar with the Marvel plot lines seemed to enjoy its diversity from the comics. It had its own origin story and didn’t rely too much on the comic book character or on Spiderman who supposedly is currently “dead.”

The movie grossed $541.6 million worldwide after the producers spent approximately $116 million to make the movie.

Maybe movie buffs want to wait and check it out on DVD to decide whether to love or hate the character.
