UIL Academic teams traveled to Whitehouse, Jan. 26, with the Math and Science teams taking first and were the math/science sweepstakes champions, while the Spelling and Vocabulary team took 2nd. The journalism team added 51 points.

Individual winners for Number Sense were: Scottie Taylor 1st overall, top senior, Mackenzie Williams 2nd overall, Amy Smith 4th overall, top junior, Kaylee Coon 5th overall, and Carter Horton 6th overall.

Individual winners for Calculator were: Scottie Taylor 1st overall, top senior, Asia Davidson 2nd overall, top junior, Bethany Baxter 3rd overall, Bethani Roper 4th overall, top sophomore,and  Rosa Gaona 6th overall, top freshman.

Individual winners for Math were: Scottie Taylor 1st overall, top senior, Carter Horton 2nd overall, top junior, Asia Davidson 3rd overall, and Bethani Roper 4th overall.

Individual winners in Science were: Ian Wilson 1st overall and Trevor Williams 2nd overall.

Individual winners for Computer Programming were: Adoni Lease 2nd overall and William Nicholson 5th overall.

Winner for Spelling and Vocabulary team was: Hale Simpson 1st

Winner for Headline Writing: Erin Benson 1st

Winner for Feature Writing: Erin Benson 1st

Winner for Copy Editing: Hale Simpson 1st

Placing in Editorial Writing: Hannah Baldwin 5th
