The high school cross country teams advance to regionals after the boys win first place and the girls take second place at the district meet at LeTourneau University Oct. 9.
Junior David Robinson took the district champion title for the second year in a row with a time of 17 minutes and 45 seconds. Senior Saniel Acosta placed second with a time of 18:11, sophomore Caleb Cox placed fourth, senior Trenton Ausmus placed fifth and senior Wesley McGarity placed 11th.
The varsity girls team also qualified for regionals with second place overall. Senior Macy Rutland placed sixth, senior Sarah Webb placed eighth, freshman Giselle Flores placed 10th, freshman Reese Rutland placed 13th, freshman Hailey Aguilar placed 14th and sophomore Lesli Flores placed 17th.
The regional meet will be held at UT Arlington Oct. 28.
