The varsity volleyball team played Troup in their first playoff game Nov. 1, beating the Tigers 3-2.

“The games this week were very nerve-racking,” junior volleyball player Kathryn Dalby said. “Any of them could’ve been some people’s very last game.”

The volleyball team then played Harmony Nov. 4 in the area playoffs and lost to the Eagles 3-1.

“Next year, I see us going a lot further into playoffs,”  Dalby said. “A lot of younger players really stepped it up this year, so I can’t wait to see what next year holds.”

The JV football team took on the Tatum Eagles away and came home with a win Nov. 4. Winning this game gave them a 10-0 undefeated season.

“At the beginning of the year, no one expected us to do so well this season,” freshman football player Myles Bradley said. “The last two teams were very challenging and beating them showed how much we improved this season.”

On Nov. 5, the varsity football team took on Tatum at home and came away with a win 28-27. This put the football team second in district.

“Coming into the game, I had faith we could pull off the win,” junior football player Riley Roys said. “I had faith in myself, my teammates and my coaching staff.”

The football team will play against Mineola in their first playoff game of the season Nov. 12 in Bullard at 7 p.m.
